Microbial transglutaminase (MTG, synonymous with BTG for bacterial transglutaminase) is a calcium-independent transglutaminase.
Microbial transglutaminase was first isolated from Streptomyces mobaraensis. Scientists at Zedira have developed a proprietary recombinant production method that yields pure, highly active microbial transglutaminase. This product is marketed under the Andracon® brand (T250 and T300).
In addition, we offer a range of supporting tools for working with microbial transglutaminase, including convenient microbial transglutaminase activity assay kits (Z009, M001 and F015) and a protein detection ELISA (E021).
Zedira also provides a specific inhibitor (MTG-Blocker, C102).
