Professor Kiyotaka Hitomi vistits Zedira

Zedira had the pleasure of hosting Professor Kiyotaka Hitomi from Nagoya University, Japan. He was warmly welcomed by Zedira’s team together with our shareholder Professor Hans-Lothar Fuchsbauer.
Professor Hitomi is a renowned expert in the field of transglutaminase research. Over the course of his distinguished academic career at Nagoya University, he has contributed significantly to the understanding of transglutaminase biology and its applications. “Hitomi-Peptides”, isoenzyme selective transglutaminase substrates are well known tools within the transglutaminase researcher community.
During his visit, Prof. Hitomi delivered a scientific presentation entitled “Identification and application of substrate peptides for transglutaminases.” His talk provided valuable insights into substrate specificity and opened the floor for a lively and engaging discussion with the Zedira team.

The visit also included a tour through Zedira’s facilities, offering an opportunity to exchange ideas on ongoing research and future applications.
A unique highlight of the day was the conclusion of the visit: Prof. Hitomi introduced the team to the tradition of a Japanese tea ceremony, preparing and serving matcha tea. This cultural experience provided a memorable and personal finish to an inspiring scientific exchange.
